We're Here !

But first we were there - leaving Orlando was a bit more fraught than perhaps first thought.  Dylan spent most of the day playing with a friend then came home and snuggled A LOT with mom and dad, getting in all those hugs that she'd have to do without for 12 days.

We packed the car, but good!
And took a final pic with mom and dad and Hayden.  Hugs all around and then we were gone!

Waiting is the worst part of travel, sitting in the airport, waiting waiting for the flight to board, standing in line, waiting to take off.  Did she whine? Did she complain? Not one time.  NOT ONCE. What a trooper.

She actually slept a good bit on the trip, lots more than me or Werner!  We got in a couple of games of UNO, dabbled at eating the food they served, took videos of landings and takeoffs.

And finally Frankfurt, and the first Überraschungsei.  Like every other kid I have known, the chocolate was tossed.  Really, who eats that stuff?  It's all about the toy inside.
And finally Bremen - and what a welcome!!  Gray!  Rain!  Cold!  We schlogged our suitcases home through the wet and then redressed to go shopping for dinner.  Here's Dylan shivering at the harbor.  She wasn't the only one.
But later it was warm comforting noodles with marinara sauce, fruit salad, crispy rolls, all yummied up and followed by a shower with the spiders which was not so much fun (but after 5 weeks without people in the house, the spiders were feeling very much in charge).  I think they're under control now.  I think.

Three chapters of the book, Fish in a Tree, and somehow she fell asleep in about 3 seconds even though there just might have been a lingering spider or two in the bedroom......

Tomorrow:  get a bike!!
